So the deed is done: Actor Alec Baldwin and yoga instructor Hilaria Thomas are married, reports People magazine, citing a friend of the couple who was there Saturday night. She will take his name, becoming the second Mrs. Baldwin.
The wedding was at St. Patrick's Old Cathedral in downtown New York. The bride, about 25 years younger than the 54-year-old 30 Rock star, wore a silk magnolia trumpet Amsale gown with cap sleeves and a keyhole back neckline accented with crystal buttons, the magazine said. Amsale also dressed Hilaria's mother and Baldwin's daughter Ireland, 16, from his first marriage to actress Kim Basinger.
Baldwin, who started dating Thomas last summer, had on a tuxedo by Tom Ford.
Matthew Hiltzik, a friend, told the magazine that, "Hilaria Thomas and Alec Baldwin were married t his evening at St. Patrick's Old Cathedral in New York City with family and friends sharing in the joy of the occasion."
The wedding was preceeded by many, many tweets from both bride and groom, who even quoted an Emily Dickingson poem in a series of tweets a few hours before the nuptials. The service included readings in Spanish because the bride grew up in Spain.
Guests included Baldwin's TV co-star Tina Fey and his brothers Stephen and Billy Baldwin. Also there were Woody Allen and wife Soon Yi; Law Order's Mariska Hargitay; Robert Kennedy Jr.; and Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels.
People has exclusive photos and an interview with the newlyweds in next week's issue, on newsstands July 11. But you knew that.
